Bat for a chance
The promoter of this giveaway is Bat For a Chance, a registered charity in England and Wales (Charity Number: 1200484 (“the Charity”).
The Charity is giving away 1,000 cricket kits to primary schools and community centres across the United Kingdom.
500 kits will be allocated to primary schools
500 kits will be allocated to community centres
Each cricket kit includes:
4 × plastic cricket bats
2 × sets of stumps
6 × tennis balls
Training cones
1 × cricket bag
The giveaway is intended to support participation in cricket among children and young people, particularly in underserved communities. The kit should only be used under supervision.
Entries are open to:
Primary schools located in the United Kingdom
Community centres located in the United Kingdom
The following entities are not eligible to enter:
Independent individuals
Commercial organisations
Organisations outside the United Kingdom
The Charity reserves the right to request reasonable evidence confirming eligibility.
The giveaway entry period opens on:
15 April 2026
and closes at:
11:59 PM (UK time) on 15 May 2026
Entries received after this time may not be considered. If fewer than 500 schools have applied for the kit by 15 May 2026, Bat For A Chance reserves the right to extend the application deadline by a month.
Eligible organisations must submit an entry using the official entry method provided by the Charity.
Entry is free of charge, and no purchase or payment is required to participate.
Each organisation may submit one entry only. Duplicate entries may be disqualified.
Successful organisations will be selected by the Charity on:
16 May 2026
A total of 1,000 organisations will be selected: 500 primary schools and 500 community centres. This giveaway is only for selecting 500 primary schools (as community centres are selected via another method).
Selection will prioritise the following criteria:
Priority will be given to schools and community centres located in underserved communities.
Where the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available kits within similarly underserved areas, the Charity may prioritise (higher priorities first):
- Index of Multiple Deprivation (prioritise schools that are in a Lower-layer Super Output Areas designated as most deprived) as published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government
- Cricket use potential (prioritise schools that have a space to use the kit)
- Percentage of Free School Meal children (prioritise schools with higher percentage of students eligible for free school meals)
- Output Area Classification produced by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in collaboration with University College London (prioritise schools that are in an area identified as deprived)
- Number of students (prioritise larger schools)
- Form responses (prioritise schools that are enthusiastic to the prospect of winning the kit)
- Activity on social media (prioritise schools that have posted about Bat For a Chance on their socials, and whose local community interacts with their social posts)
The Charity’s decision regarding selection will be final and binding.
Successful organisations will be notified by email or other contact details provided in their application shortly after 16 May 2026.
If a selected organisation cannot be contacted or declines the kit, the Charity reserves the right to select an alternative recipient.
Cricket kits will be posted to the winning organisations during June 2026 to the address provided during entry.
The Charity will make reasonable efforts to ensure delivery but is not responsible for delays caused by postal or courier services.
The cricket kits are not transferable, refundable, or exchangeable, and no cash alternative will be offered.
The Charity may request permission to:
Share the names of recipient organisations
Share photos or updates showing how the cricket kits are used
Participation in publicity is optional unless otherwise agreed.
The Charity accepts no responsibility for:
Lost, delayed, or incomplete entries
Technical issues affecting entry submission
Delivery issues outside the Charity’s control
The Charity will not be liable for any injury or damage resulting from the use of the cricket kits.
Any personal data provided during the entry process will be used solely for the purposes of administering the giveaway and will be processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws.
The Charity reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the giveaway if circumstances arise outside its reasonable control.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales
